From the Stockholm-based boutique label responsible for the grassroots cultivation of Flora Cash, Icons Creating Evil Art’s newest signing CORRO debuts with ‘Hi Hello’, a track which tussles with the social stigma attached to mental health.
The soloist was previously a member of alt-rock bands Kerbera and DEADLOCKED STATE, the former known for their viral debut single ‘Inglorious’, which to date has garnered 3.5million+ streams.
Releasing the track on his birthday, CORRO’s organic evolution and deep connection with his fans goes right to the heart of ‘Hi Hello’. The lyrics are intended to speak directly to Generation Z, and he proclaims that “it’s okay to not be okay, you’re never alone, if no one listens then DM me – don’t ever suffer in silence.”
On the artist’s debut, his red-raw vocals are reminiscent of YUNGBLUD while the electronic-laden production leans more towards Twenty One Pilots, though CORRO still finds his niche, building an anthemic chorus laced with synth-heavy string parts. He comments; “I want to make a family for everyone that needs one.”
The soloist continually receives letters from fans telling him how much his music in previous projects have helped them through their own mental health issues. This is CORRO’s opportunity to start a dialogue with his fans and any others that are struggling themselves.
‘Hi Hello’ will be available on all platforms from 15th November 2019 via Icons Creating Evil Art.
